Stage I Test at SSB’s
Stage –I test at SSB’s is conducted to eliminate the obvious failures. That means those candidates , who have no chance of clearing the SSB in this attempt.
Main causes of failure in this test are as follows:-
OIR Test
(a) Poor performance in the officers Intelligence rating test( either in any one of the verbal or non verbal tests, or in both of them)

Picture Perception Test
(b) Misunderstanding of test instructions delivered by the examiner, prior to the test.
(c) Writing the story, which does not relate to the picture shown and the characters identified in it.
(d) Describing the scene in the picture, instead of writing a story about the characters involved in it.
(e) Writing unrealistic stories fantasies as stories, or fairy tail as stories.

Discussion Test
(f) Hesitant/ nervous narration of the story.
(g) Lack of participation in the discussion.
(h) Only raising questions on other’s stories without looking for the commonalities.
(i) Speaking loudly and continue to speak, without listening to other participants.
In most of the cases the participants forget to behave in gentlemanly manner, in the effort to project oneself as the most suitable candidate or as a candidate possessing all the desired leadership qualities. This invariably happens due to faulty coaching imparted by ill-equipped trainers or the wrong advice received from the candidates, who themselves have not been able to clear the SSB tests in the past.
One has to keep in mind that the coaching can be derogatory if not used correctly. You may hamper your chances of clearing the SSB, if you just ape others or try to fit in the solutions suggested/ given by others.
My sincere advice to all the aspirants of defence services is to remain what to are. Develop yourself from with in as per the advice or the training obtained. Learn to generate options , so that a well considered decision could be made.

Prepare yourself to bring in positive changes in your attitude and behavior. Try this three pronged approach.
(a) Learn to acknowledge the help given to you i.e. learn to say thank you for even to the remotest favour done to you by anyone.
(b) Learn to give whatever you can afford to give to people around you without any expectation or favour in return, be it material or moral support. Try it once even if you do not like it. I can assure you, it will give you immense pleasure and a new friend.
(c) Learn to pardon others mistake. This will help you in focusing your total energy to your goal, rather than getting it diverted in fighting with the ideas or thoughts of taking revenge from this person.
This will not only take you closure to your immediate goal of clearing the SSB test , but will change your approach to the life and propel you to the elite group of gentlemen, who are devoid of ego and are polite.

Some of the Courses offered by KAKINI

Preparatory courses to face Services Selection Board
Selection for Indian defence services involves a written test by UPSC or by the concerned services head quarter, like AFCAT by Air Force, followed by the psychological tests at the SSB. It is these tests which bring maximum stress upon a candidate, because these lie in the unfamiliar territory, unlike the written tests, to which everyone is very familiar with. During our courses we orient our trainees to learn the ways of enhancing their personal abilities through psychological training. This enhancement brings in improved handling of difficult situations and assists them in better decision making to tackle conflict situations.
Our USP is improving attitude by behaviour training and overall personality development for life through self awareness.
